Galicia Coastal Plan organizes and protects an area of 212,164 hectares of coastline (which represents the 7.2% of Galicia). 67,000 hectares are under special environmental protection, other 46,000 are considered for developments under strict environmental criteria. All the rest, about 100,000 hectares, situated behind the coastline are the object of the plan.
We, at ILUX Visual Technologies, have developed a visualization and integration tool for geographic information representation of the Coastal Plan of Galicia. Thereby benefits the comprehensive land management and offers an effective tool to classify land uses.
